FAQs

They are not allowed inside the track area (as per school rules) and in order to maintain safety for race participants. No roller blades, skateboards, rollershoes or other wheeled device with the exception of strollers for WALKING participants in the 5K. This is due to the narrow trail, safety, and course route which doubles back.
  • If I change my mind, can I get a refund or transfer my number to another individual?  There will be no refunds given and no transferring of numbers this year due to the use of chip timing and online registration.
  • Can a child younger than 13 sign up for the 5K or 5 Mile?  Children under the age of 13 are strongly encouraged to participate in the Lil’ Firecracker run, but will be allowed to participate in the the 5K race under the supervision of a parent or guardian.
  • Will the race be cancelled or postponed due to bad weather?  The races will be held rain or shine, but may possibly be delayed or postponed due to extreme weather conditions such as, but not limited to, tornados, lightning, hail, or heat above 95 degrees. Safety is our number one concern!
  • Can I just order a shirt, without participating in the event?  The Sleep in registration covers this option.  We do strongly encourage participation on race day but understand that weekends are busy times for people. Please contact us if you have unique circumstances.
  • Where are bathroom facilities located?  Bathrooms are located in several areas- In the concessions building behind the main bleachers, to the right and straight ahead when entering the High School, and to the left in the locker rooms. There are additional bathrooms along the course, at the 1.5 mile turnaround, at Winnebago park and at the fairground waterstop location.
  •  Where do I park?  First come-first serve parking will be available in the High School parking lot and on residential streets.  Please refrain from parking along the race route.
  •  What time should I arrive the day of the race? Plan to arrive early enough to be ready to race.  For some folks, that means arriving by 6:30 am to stretch, have some coffee and chat.  For others it means arriving ready to go at 7:30 am. When in doubt, give yourself extra time (it will mean a better parking spot anyway).  RACE DAY REGISTRATION ACCEPTED UNTIL 7:15 a.m.
